The General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum is located in the Jialingxin Lu of the Yuzhong District in Chongqing Municipality to commemorate General Joseph W. Stilwell who contributed greatly to the liberation of China during the World War II.

Joseph W. Stilwell (1883-1946) was born in Palatka, Florida, USA. He was graduated from West Point in 1904. He participated in WWII and was once Military Attache in the United States Embassy in China. From 1926 to 1929 he commanded the American soldiers quartered at Tianjin City in China. After American involvement in WWII, Stillwell, as a Lieutenant General was dispatched to China. During his mission in China, Stillwell was chef of staff to Chiang Kai-Shek (leader of National People's Party China).

The General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum was opened to the public in 2003 after a renovation. The building had been his residence from 1924 to 1944. Covering an area of about 4,800 square meters (1.2 acres) with comfortable layouts, the museum attracts more American visitors every year. There are bedrooms, offices, and assembly rooms as well as a dining room with the furnishings placed as they were when Stilwell lived here. One hundred more accessories that General Stilwell used such as his telephone and radio, scriptures, and uniforms are exhibited.
