Day 01: Starting in Beijing
You will be met upon arrival at Beijing Capital Airport and check into your hotel. The rest day is left free off schedule for your individual activities. No escorted tour is scheduled.

Day 02: Beijing    
After breakfast you are invited to attend the pre-tour briefing in the hotel, where you will meet the other members of your group. Start your China tour with the visit to the world largest city square of Tian'anmen Square. Just cross the famous Chang'an Avenue to enter the Forbidden City to appreciate this majestic royal court complex. In the afternoon the visit will be focused on the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors pray for God blessing and harvest for the whole nation. The welcome dinner of the Beijing Specialty Peking Duck Banquet valued at CNY122.00 net per person will be served at a famous restaurant. Consequently you will be entertained by a lively Acrobatic Show.

Day 03: Beijing  
Drive to visit Badaling section of the world famous Great Wall, one of the ancient construction wonders in the history. You will be given 1.5-2 hours to have a short excursion on the wall. To reward the energy lost in the morning, you will be transferred back to a fine local Sichuan food restaurant to have a decent lunch. In the afternoon you will move to visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tombs.

Day 04: Beijing - Xian  
After visiting the Imperial Garden, the Summer Palace where is the royalties' summer resort and the lovely Giant Pandas in Beijing Zoo, take an afternoon flight to the next ancient capital city, Xian. The local guide will pick you up at the Xian airport and transfer to check in at the well selected hotel. An a la carte dinner valued at CNY60.00 net per person will be arranged for you at a well-known restaurant.

Day 05: Xian
Drive to visit the remarkable significant archeological excavation of Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum in the morning, which is not to be missed for any visitors to China. In the afternoon go on with the city tour to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the well preserved Ancient City Wall. This evening please enjoy the local Dumpling Banquet Dinner while you are entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Day 06: Xian - Dunhuang
Continue your Xian city tour by visiting the Provincial History Museum and the Great Mosque. After that, take a late afternoon flight to Dunhuang and transfer to the well selected hotel.

Day 07: Dunhuang - Turpan
Take your Dunhuang tour to visit the Mogao Grottoes, a shrine of Buddhist art treasures, and experience a short camel ride along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Lake. After dinner, see you off by an overnight soft sleeper train to a delightful oasis town, Turpan.

Day 08: Turpan
Arrival in the morning and be met at the platform and transferred to the hotel where the breakfast will be served. As scheduled in the itinerary, you will visit the ruins of the Jiaohe City, where large fragments of actual streets and buildings remain as a life-sized model of a Tang Dynasty city, and then pay a visit to a Uygur family and have lunch there while treated by the hospitable hosts. The amazing 2,000 year old Karez Irrigation Tunnels and the Astana-Karakhoja Ancient Tombs will be offered in the afternoon.

Day 09: Turpan - Urumqi
Carry on your Silk Road Adventure to the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves, the ancient walled capital of the Uighurs, Gaochang Ruins and have an overview of the Flaming Hill on the way. Afterwards, transfer to Urumqi and check in at the well selected hotel.

Day 10: Urumqi - Shanghai
Take a morning flight to your final stop, the largest economic metropolis in China, Shanghai. After lunch, visit the newly developed area simulating the old Shanghai style, Xin Tian Di, which assembles dinning, entertainment, culture, fashion, shopping and tourism. You may find your preferred restaurant or café to arrange your dinner there.

Day 11: Shanghai
Visit the Shanghai Museum with large collection of rare cultural piece and the elegant Yuyuan Garden full of traditional flavor. Some free time will be left for you to stroll at the Bund along the Huangpu River. After dinner at the hotel, our guide will bid farewell to you. Our escorted service ends here.

 Day 12: Ending in Shanghai
Please go to the airport for your home forward flight on your own. If you still have more time for the China visit, you can contact us for some suggestion to extend your China trip.

Airports:
Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (9 miles (15 km) west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (19 miles (30km) southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.

Best way to Airports:
YangtzeRiverTour suggests you book a taxi at the Front Desk of your Shanghai hotel to make sure you won't stand outside the hotel entrance with your luggage waiting for a taxi. The trip to Pudong Airport takes about one hour at 150 -170 RMB and it needs a 20 minutes drive for the Hongqiao Airport at 30 RMB. Hotel shuttle buses are available every hour to the airport at 50 RMB per person. For details please contact the Front Desk of the hotel.
