Located in the Renmin Lu, the People's Assembly Hall catches the attention of every passerby. Begun in 1951, the construction of the hall required two yeas to complete. Covering a floor area of about 30 thousand square meters (7.4 acres), the building complex is a cluster of attached structures featuring Ming and Qing architecture styles. The main body of the hall resembles the Imperial Vault of Heaven, a main part of the Temple of Heaven, which imparts a sense of solemnity and splendor.
