Chongqing to Build Four Luxurious Cruise Ships in 2007
An official of Chongqing Traffic Administration pointed out that a check up of the cruising ships on the Yangtze River is needed to improve Three Gorges tourism. It is estimated that half of the ships are to stop operating and four more luxury cruise ships are to be built in 2007.

To promote the tourism in Three Gorges, Chongqing strives for a better sailing experience. Regulations and new standards are made to put the ship operating market. Low-quality ships are not allowed to carry passengers while. Luxurious ships are privileged by preferential authorization and other special offers.

Three Gorges Ship Locks to Resume Normal Transit on June 30th
A document issued by the National Development and Reform Commission that Three Gorges Ships Lock is to resume its normal state by opening its two lines to navigation on June 30. In order to get the Dam fully prepared for the coming 175 meters (about 574 feet) water storage level, the Administrative Bureau of the Changjiang Three Gorges Navigation and the China Three Gorges Project Corporation launched an ending construction of the project.

However, since the lock being closed on September 10, 2006, the bypassing of the dam site has been carrying on smoothly and the visiting of the Three Gorges Dam is still in the normal track.

Price of Vehicles in Sichuan Scenic Areas to Cut down
According to the Price Bureau of Sichuan Province, the result of the Public Price Hearings held in December, 2006 has already been published. It is said, the prices of the vehicles in some scenic areas will be cut down with the average decreasing amplitude of 23.4 %.

The Price Hearings was directed by the Price Bureau of Sichuan Province and 18 representatives from various fields attended the meeting. The proposal of decreasing the prices won an overwhelming support. Five kinds of vehicles involved are telphers, cable cars, and sightseeing vehicles etc in Jiuzhaigou Valley, the Four Maidens Mountains and the Hailuogou Valley. The move is expected to be carried on from May, 2007.
