Reports form the Administrative Bureau of Changjiang Three Gorges Navigation said that the double-way navigation on the Three Gorges Dam is to resume after the half-year lock from May 1, 2007.

The resumption is preconditioned to a thorough check by technicians and experts on April 27th. It is announced that the double-way navigation is to resume from May 1st, and concerned policies made specific for the constructing period are abolished simultaneously. The resumption put the half-year transshipment over the dam to an end. From that day on no passing permit will be involved for cargo ships; and passenger ships can enter the dam area directly through the ship lock. One ship lock is in the south for downstream with anther in the north for upstream.
