Chongqing to Build Ecotypic Landscape in Three Gorges Dam Area

In order to put the Three Gorges scenic area into full play, Chongqing Municipality is to program the Chongqing section into three distinct landscapes in recent years.

It is learnt that the planned area covers an area of about 2,500 square kilometers (617,763 acres) including 17 districts and counties along both riversides of Yangtze River, which is about 572 kilometers (625 yards) long. The three parts are as follows: Jiangjin City and many other cities focused on city landscape, gardens, and distinct sights; Changshou District to Wanzhou District focused on rurality; Yunyang County to Wushan County focused on natural sceneries of the gorges In addition many historical relics such as Zhangfei Temple, Baidi City, Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge are to be specially protected.
