Yichang to Launch EMU Train Running between Yichang and WuhanPublished : 2:21 A.M. EST, May 28, 2007 It is learnt from the Development and Reform Commission of Yichang that EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) trains are expected to run along the railway between Yichang and Wuhan in the near future. The EUM train is planed at a speed of 200 kilometers (124.3 miles) per hour; and now the prospecting of the whole construction is well under the way. Invested with 20 billion CNY, the whole project is to take four years to finish. The preparatory work is to be completed by this July. It will take only 2 hours between Yichang and Wuhan by way of Hanchuan, Tianmen, Xiantao, Qianjiang, Jingzhou, Zhijiang and Yichang. |
