Desheng Jie and Horse Cleaning Pool:
the street outside the North Gate of Jingzhou City is called Desheng Jie (Triumphal Street). A legend goes that the General Guan Yu of the Shu Kingdom gained a great triumph over the Cao army of the Wei Kingdom in the Han River when he guarded Jingzhou. People cheered and welcomed all along their way back thus the street was named Desheng Jie. The pool east of the north gate is called the Horse Cleaning Pool in which, it is said, Guan Yu cleaned his horse.
