Closed Fishing Season Starts in Downstream Reach of Gezhouba Project

The closed fishing season in the downstream reach of Gezhouba Water Control Project (Yangtze River) starts from April 1^st and ends in the end of June, 2007.

It is said that more than 280 involved fishers signed the responsibility statements with the fishery administration to obey the regulations of safe fishery. During the closed fishing season, fishermen receive subsidies CNY270, 000 per year from the government.
